I think by now we all know how important it is to keep our cores strong and healthy. How a strong core helps protect our back, reduces the chance of injury, and can drastically improve posture.

But traditional core exercises are so... dull. All those sit ups and planks. When are we supposed to be fitting them into our day?

Well, I’ve got some good news for you. You don’t actually have to do sit ups and planks to train your core. Now don’t get me wrong, those exercises are very beneficial. If you currently do them, obviously don’t stop.

But we don’t actually spend that much of our life lying on our backs or on all fours. We spend most of our time standing up, walking about and sitting down. So it’s important that we add in some core moves in functional ways too. This just means we train the way we move in life, so we’re training for life, not to get better at an exercise.
